About CUNY

The City University of New York ( CUNY ) is located in one of the world's preeminent global cities. It is the largest urban university in the United States. Some 200,000 students are enrolled for degrees on 21 campuses in all five boroughs of New York City. Another 200,000 students take adult and continuing education courses. The City University of New York traces its roots back to 1847 and is one of the leading higher education institutions in USA.
